Me time!

I had a mental break this weekend, and I think I have figured out why. I think there are 2 things I really need to be doing in my day to day life to improve my health, mentally and physically. The first thing I am going to start doing is I need to run, 3 times a week which will give me some regularity in working out, and increase my endorphins and my mood. (also making me skinnier so then in turn happier!) I am also going to start setting aside 1 weekend a month (or 6 weeks at most) aside to go do something new, something out of town (doesn't have to be far). I will look up some touristy things, talk to friends that have lived here for years, get ideas and then make the plans.. I think it is very important for me to do this so I am not just sitting at home or work day after day. so please share with me some ideas you might have for me to try!

2013 renewal

As I sit here thinking about 2012 and my life, I think that I didn't get out and do much.. I worked, and I spent some time with my nephew, but that was all I really did. with 2013 here, I would like to set the goal of just getting out and doing more, learning something new. I would like to be more active in the community, take some fun classes, maybe piano, cooking, something. I am also committing to making the choice to eat healthy, not just diet,  but completely change the way I eat.. I want to start looking up at least one new recipe a week to try when I dont work. I am going to walk/run at least 4 times a week. I am just going to be a better person in 2013! this is my year to achieve the things I want in life!  If you want to see some of the changes happen check out thefitnesssisters.blogspot.com or https://www.facebook.com/TheFitnessSisters

LASIK surgery

For all of those who are thinking about I would highly recommend it! I had the procedure done yesterday. It was very easy and simple! Here is the whole story.... I went in for the initial consultation, watched some video's on how it works, and what the pro's and con's are of it. I then went back the next week, for the pre-op, it was a normal eye exam, with a few extra tests and pictures of the eye. It was very interesting to see the pictures of my eyes all up close and personal. The next step is preparing for the surgery, no contacts or make up for 3 days before procedure. The morning of the procedure I got to the office, they greeted me with a Valium, and then I waiting.. I walked back into the exam room, laid down, and got all comfy.. They calibrated the laser machine, which helped get used to the sound you will here. They covered my left eye, and put numbing drops in my right eye, and propped it open. They then had me stare at a green light, and lined the laser up nice and straight to my eye. Then comes the suction cup to the eye, it was strange feeling and uncomfortable, then there is the sound it makes, that is the scariest sound... it is a slicing sound, yes this is them cutting the flap of your eye open, but you dont feel it, just hear the buzzing of it. The suction comes off, you keep staring at green light, red light moves around lasering your eyes, this last all of 30 seconds to a minute. when that is over, the doctor has a small spongy thing on a stick, you watch her (yes you can see it happening) place the flap back in place, and rub some ointment onto your eye. She waits another 30 seconds to a minute for flap to seal into place (enough you wont blink it out of place). puts more drops in to eye. you then close that eye, and start with the left. The only difference is the suction part of procedure is more intense for the second eye, the nurse held my arm, but I still did a lil twitch. After the doc is done with the second eye, you slowly get up and go to another room. In that room the doc looks at your eyes, makes sure it looks good, (at this point the numbing starts to wear of and your eyes start to itch). The nurse gave me 4 different drops and explained how to use them all. one you use just twice, one for the nap when you get home and once before bed that night. the lubricating drops you put in every hour for 24 hours if your awake. The other 2, an antibiotic and a steroid (to promote quick healing) you do 4 times a day for 7 days. they also give you sunglasses to wear. My vision was blurry, but I could see better then I could without glasses the day before. It just looked like I was looking thru a fish tank. Now, my suggestion get home as quick as you can. I had a 2 hour horrible drive home. My eyes became very itchy, and being in the sun (in the car) made it a whole lot worse, they sun glasses helped, but it wasnt until I got home that I could keep my eyes open for more then 3-5 seconds. I took my nap, and when I woke up every thing was great! Very little blurring, my vision was great, with a few fuzzy or blurry spits here and there. I was able to drive about 7 hours after the procedure. I still rested and didnt do anything. The next day (today) I went to work for a few hours, then off to the post op.. They tested my vision and I am seeing at a 20/20 already. I still have a few lil itchy moments thru out the day, but they said that could be for the next month, and my vision may even improve as well in the next month. Ill let you all know how my next week is..

How do you know?

How do you know when things are  going well, or just you keep getting put on the back burner.. How do you know when your in a relationship or just dating? how do you know if your getting serious or just things are going slow? how do you know how fast to move, or how slow? how do you know if you should try to just give up? how do you know if they are the one?

Waiting

Waiting is not fun! Have you ever had to wait for something, anything.. I hate waiting for everything.. I am the least patient person there is.. Have to wait for test results, the end of the book, the end of the movie.. I always feel like I have to read the last page of the book about half way thru the book.. Even when its not my stuff I am waiting for.. I hate waiting! I want to just speed up time and find out.. Lets build a time machine to go look in the future!
